C7 and C9 Holiday Lights
Most homeowners think of C7 or C9 lights when they think about “getting their lights put up.” C7 and C9 bulbs are two different sizes of the familiar “candle-flame” shape. They’re screwed into custom-cut lengths of cord and, as a result, your light string can be designed to mix and match colors however you like.
Our HLNW team of holiday elves hand-screws each bulb into its socket, which allows you to create whatever pattern you desire: Just white; two red / two white / two green; or one of each rainbow color. You tell us what you like, and we make it happen.
Both C7 and C9 come in incandescent, LED and new Flex Filament options, may include either smooth, faceted, transparent or opaque bulbs, and feature all colors of the rainbow (see below.) The hardest part may be deciding where to start. If that’s the case, you can always get help with your design.
C7 Lights
At approx. 1.5” in height and 1” in diameter, C7 light bulbs are the smaller version of the C-bulbs. Their smaller size lets them appear less bright, which yields a more subtle holiday display. C7 bulbs can be used to outline your roof, gutter and ridgelines, and lend themselves particularly well to decorate fences, doorways and windows.
C9 Lights
At approximately 2.5” in height and 1.5” in diameter, C9 bulbs are the standard bulb that is used to trim gutters, ridge lines and peaks.
BULB TYPES
Incandescent
Incandescent light bulbs are known and loved for their warm and familiar glow. However, the low initial purchase price can make for ugly surprise on the power bill, come January.
LED
LED lights come in a variety of shades, are nearly unbreakable and are the energy-efficient way to go. Their reputation of being “ice blue” is no longer justified, as they are available in many colors.
Flex Filament
Fairly new on the market, flex filament bulbs have the signature glowing wire that gives incandescent lights their charm, but operate at even greater efficiency than standard LED lights.
